Our bedroom pendant lamp is ready!

This is one is ready too! The ikea pendant lamp we had in our bedroom is now brand new. It was the same design as our side lamps. With big yellow flowers...

I started , as i did with the table lamps, by removing the fabric from the lamp hat. So i was left with only the plastic hat. And i stayed there looking at! I did not know what exactly i wanted to do with it! I thought using twine, fabric or painting it. And a little while later i got it! I took tape and started wrapping it around the hat with no particular pattern in mind. Got outside and painted it with the same paint i used for the room divider and the side lamps, that gorgeous accidental color! I removed the tape before the paint dried completely so as not to have any accidents! Paint going away with the tape!!! I really liked the look of it...but there was something missing!

I got the twine in hand and started gluing around the paint, making a frame. Like that...

I made two braids for one of the paint designs on the lamp.

It looked much better now! Before hanging it i also painted the cup the is attached to the ceiling, using the same color.

Doesn't it look great with the room divider?

Until next time...

  1. Very lovely colors it is, really caught my eye. Thanks for stopping by, I haven't pickled mushrooms before, so I'll maybe give that a try. But I love the crunch of pickled beans, great served as a side also. Give them a try.

  2. It is a great idea and looks great, but I am concerned about the poster board being exposed to the lamp heat.

    1. Thank you Emma. You mean the lamp hat or the room divider? I used the original hat the lamp had, i just removed the fabric. Plus we use economy lamps that do not emit any heat.
